A church planting movement (CPM) or disciple making movement (DMM) can be defined as “the multiplication of disciples making disciples and leaders developing leaders, resulting in indigenous churches planting churches which begin to spread rapidly through a people group or population segment.” Click here to read more about gospel movements.
Jeremiah 33:6 “Nevertheless, the time will come when I will heal their wounds and give it prosperity and true peace.“
In Christ, all God’s promises–to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob–are ‘yes’ and ‘amen.’ And so today, we claim this promise originally spoken over Jerusalem. Lord, we declare: the time will come when You will heal the region’s wounds, for its wounds are as deep as the sea, and You alone can heal them. And we speak out in faith: Lord, You and You alone will bring true peace and prosperity.
Disciple Making Movements are multifaceted with many layers of nuance in both theory and practice. Today, rather than focusing on one aspect of movement, we will pray through a number of them using the acronym GEHARP.
That God would be glorified and exalted and worshipped throughout the Middle East/North Africa: north, south, east and west, among all communities…that God’s glory would increase as disciples and churches love and obey.
That many would come to salvation and communities of believers be planted. May disciples make disciples, and churches plant churches, and may generations of believers come to faith, covering the whole nation and touching all aspects of society: economic, political, social, ecological, and cultural.
That strongholds and bondages will be lifted from the thoughts and emotions of the people, and that hearts and minds will be stirred with desire for Christ: for Hope and Truth.
That principalities and powers over this region would be held back–even broken and thrown down–as the name of Jesus is lifted high over these nations. May we declare prophetic words over the Middle East/North Africa, releasing visions, dreams, and signs and wonders in Jesus’ name. And may followers of Jesus walk in the authority bestowed on them by Christ’s life, death, resurrection, and ascension.
That believers living here would be awakened by the Holy Spirit. That God would stir love and passion in their hearts for the lost, and that they would walk in the presence of Living God, repenting of their sins and turning back to God.
That God would bring blessing and prosperity to Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Tunisia, Jordan, Bahrain, and Iraq that He would show His eternal kindness, demonstrate the blessing of His Kingdom, and cause His people to prosper.
Each day, we pray for one of the countries the Grove represents, believing in faith that a disciple making movement will touch each and every community throughout these nations.
Today, we pray for Muslim South Asians in the United Arab Emirates.
For those seeking to provide for their families back home in Pakistan, Indian, and Bangladesh. That they would find Jesus in community with others and bring the good news back to their families and countries
The Grove is a learning and implementation community of 23 intentional kingdom workers from 7 different nationalities serving in 8 strategic nations within the Middle East and North Africa. We have intentionally banded together for 2023-2024 to learn, grow, experiment, pray, and serve together.
